"A hologram is often described as a ‘window with memory’ as it captures light as if it was frozen by a window."

One of our members brought back more boxes to CNC-router out some pockets for inlaying holograms. These holograms were created from hand-made and hand-carved 3D models.

How are they made?
"By recording the direction and shape of light the hologram encodes spatial information by capturing an interference pattern. This pattern is physically etched as micro-to-nano structure that then shapes light through diffraction."

Lacey MakerSpace is closed this weekend as the space is undergoing a very messy part of our expansion, saw cutting. We’ll be back to our usual business hours Thursday, September 28th.

Our lobby is almost completely set up with a design workstation, 3D printers, and our Direct-to-Garment printer. Walls are starting to come down, and we're aiming for a January 11th completion date. The woodshop, laser engraver, and main workspace are generally available and open to our members as well as welding and the CNC equipment.

We're thrilled about the expansion into this new space and we'll keep you updated as things develop!
