Instructor Bio: “As a mostly self-taught artist, I understand how difficult it can be to get started on developing necessary skills to create your own wearable works of art.
I have been dabbling with a wide range of art and craft projects all my life, and have always gravitated back to handmade jewelry and working with wire. I have been making jewelry since 2000 and my favorite technique is the Viking Wire Weave (Knit) which I learned at the University of Ithra through the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) in 1998.
I discovered that I love teaching others and have done so since 2001. I am most inspired by helping others discover and develop their own creativity and hope to bring inspiration to those just beginning their artistic journey.” –Denise “Dee” Townsend – Whims in Wire ~ handcrafts by Dee
