The Lacey MakerSpace is grateful and honored to be the recipient of a $1m grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA), in fall 2021.
This grant is thanks, in part, to support from U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, Chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.
Funds from this EDA grant are earmarked almost entirely for the purchase of state-of-the-art fabrication and prototyping equipment, with a smaller portion providing the funds to further develop professional courses to train workers and business owners on proper use and application of the new equipment and accompanying software.
We are still raising funds separately to cover building improvements and other operational expenses.
