In this two-day workshop, you’ll learn how to turn acrylic (resin) pen blanks into beautiful, custom pens. The class covers key differences between turning acrylic and wood, explores various resin materials, and demonstrates turning and finishing techniques using a lathe.
Day One:

- See the complete process, from start to finish, using a lathe.
- Understand the CA finish and how it’s applied.
- Get hands-on experience by selecting and prepping an acrylic pen blank for Day Two.
Day Two:
- Review safety tips and turning techniques.
- Finish prepping and turn your own custom acrylic pen.
This class is perfect for those with basic woodturning experience who are ready to take on acrylics!
Pre-requisite: Pen turning experience or have taken Pen Turning 101.

Instructor Bio: Ed Pong has been creating wood projects, including pens and end grain cutting boards, for about 10 years. He started the hobby as an artistic outlet and a way to relieve stress. When talking about ways to decompress and chill out, Ed says: “there’s nothing like watching chips fly”.
